UFC 199: Urijah Faber Takes Aim at “Best Friends”, Dominick Cruz And TJ Dillashaw

Leading up to UFC 199, Dominick Cruz has repeatedly criticized Urijah Faber for his well documented rift with TJ Dillashaw, and the former WEC champ has clearly taken notice.

Cruz has argued that Faber’s negative response to Dillashaw leaving Team Alpha Male, is evidence of the fact that the Sacramento fighter has a big ego. The bantamweight champion has also claimed Faber was afraid to face his now, former teammate.

Faber, meanwhile, has claimed that both Dillashaw and Cruz physically look different, since the UFC brought USADA on board to overlook far more stringent drug testing policies. Faber has stopped short of directly accusing Dillashaw or Cruz of taking PEDs, but the comments have made headlines.

Well, recently Faber appeared on “The MMA Hour”, and while discussing his rivals, the veteran said the following (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“The best part about this whole rivalry is how it’s brought T.J. and Cruz together,” Faber said. “You know what happens when somebody hints or says that I was doing some sort of PEDs? I would say, ‘absolutely not, I’ve never done anything like that. I’ve never even considered it. In fact, I’ve been a proponent against it. So why would he even say that?’ I’d say, no. What do these guys do? They become best friends. Cruz is making up charities he thinks Dillashaw might have worked at. I mean, we ought to take a poll. Is it Dillacruz or Cruzashaw? These guys are a team now. It’s comedy. I can’t wait to see who backstabs who first.”

Cruz decisioned Dillashaw in January to reclaim the bantamweight title. The champion will face Faber in a rubber match this Saturday at UFC 199.
