UFC 202: Conor McGregor is “Interested to See” What Nate Diaz Can do With Full Camp
By FCF Staff
Unlike their first encounter, Nate Diaz will face Conor McGregor at UFC 202 having had a full training camp, and the latter is “interested to see” what that means.
Diaz stepped in on short notice to battle McGregor this past March, after Rafael dos Anjos withdrew with a broken foot. Diaz won the bout via second round submission, and he, and others, have noted he was able to do so, despite the fact he didn’t have a complete camp.
Well, recently McGregor held a press conference in advance of their August 20th rematch, and during it, the Irish star said this (quote via UFC.com):
“I’m interested to see what the boy has done with a full camp,” McGregor said. “He was talking all this, ‘I didn’t have a full camp and that’s the reason I got my ass whooped for most of the fight until you couldn’t whoop my ass no more.’
“Let’s see what he has and let’s see what this full camp has done. I believe I’m the better fighter by a long stretch. I am more skilled, I am faster, I and smarter. He is tough, durable and big. That’s it. He spoke a big game and has had a long camp. Let’s see.”
UFC 202 will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
