UFC 202: John Kavanagh Dismisses Idea Conor McGregor Has Entourage

Recently Conor McGregor estimated that he’s spending around $300,000 on his training camp for UFC 202, but the star’s coach is dismissing the idea he has a large entourage.

McGregor will rematch Nate Diaz at the August 20th event, who submitted him this past March at UFC 196. McGregor recently moved his camp from Ireland to Las Vegas, which reportedly includes multiple sparring partners, coaches, a masseuse and nutritionist.

Recently McGregor’s head coach, John Kavanagh, spoke with UFC.com. While discussing McGregor’s camp, and whether the featherweight champ has an entourage, Kavanagh stated:

“As for dealing with a large entourage, we really don’t have that,” Kavanagh. “I’m in a house with Conor, and there is, including his girlfriend and my girlfriend, there’s maybe seven or eight of us. And then we have a second house with seven or eight training partners. So it’s quite secluded. It’s a training camp rather than an entourage. There’s nobody paid here to say, “You’re the champ,” or do anything like that. (Laughs) Everybody here has a meaningful role in terms of athletic development or in sparring, so it’s a tight knit, effective training camp.”

UFC 202 will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
