Junior dos Santos was unable to finish Stipe Miocic the first time they fought back in 2014, but the former heavyweight champ’s confident their rematch will unfold differently.

JDS and Miocic fought in the headliner of UFC on FOX 13, and the latter lost the competitive contest via unanimous decision. Since then, however, Miocic has won three straight and holds the heavyweight title, as he gets set to fight dos Santos on May 13th.

Recently the promotion held a conference call to promote the upcoming fight, and during it, dos Santos said this (quote via MMA Junkie):

“I have no doubts that I’m going to become champion, and what I miss the most, I miss the feeling to be the baddest man on the planet, to be the No. 1 in my division, to be the champion and live as the champion and enjoy it…”

“I’m a very confident guy; I like to be positive,” Dos Santos relayed during the call. “In my dreams, the way I see things going in the fight, I can see myself beating him before the end of the second round. I’m very well prepared. I’m living a great moment. I’m stronger, I’m smarter, I have more experience now, and I think it’s the same with him.”

“Cigano”, meanwhile, has fought twice since he defeated Miocic. In 2015 , dos Santos was stopped by Alistair Overeem, before he went on to decision Ben Rothwell in 2016.

UFC 211 will take place in Dallas, Texas.
