UFC 215: Ray Borg Says He’ll Make 125 “Easily”
By FCF Staff
Ray Borg has missed weight for two of his last four fights, but the rising flyweight says he’ll hit his mark, for his title fight this Saturday with Demetrious Johnson.
Borg will battle Johnson in the headliner of UFC 215, which will take place in Edmonton, Alberta. Recently the fighter reported the following, during a media call to promote the September 9th card (quotes via MMA Junkie):
“I just turned 24,” Borg said. “I never came from a superstar camp. A few of my weight-cuts were more of improper weight-cutting and honestly just lack of knowledge.”
“I’ve corrected my mistakes. I’ve done what I’ve had to do to be up to that 125-pound limit, so I have no doubt in my mind that I’m going to make weight easily.”
Johnson will be attempting to set a new title defense record on Saturday, as the flyweight champion has defended the 125 crown, ten times. Borg, meanwhile, has won four of his last five fights.
