UFC 219: Cris “Cyborg” Reports She Used to Walk Around “180 or 185”
By FCF Staff
As Cris “Cyborg” Justino prepares for her first title defense as the UFC’s women’s, featherweight champ, she’s revealed she used to walk around as much as 40 more pounds than the division’s weight.
Before the UFC opened up a 145 division for women in the promotion, Justino’s agonizing efforts to make 140 pounds for catch-weight bouts were well documented. Recently the UFC held a media call, in advance of “Cyborg’s” December 30th bout with Holly Holm, and the Brazilian reported this (quote via MMA Fighting):
“I’m really lighter than before. You know, before I used to walk around at 180 or 185 and now I’m walking around at 170. It’s very different than it was before when I was heavy. I’m getting to work more and more and getting light, but I really have to be on top of my weight now.”
“Cyborg” vs. Holm will headline UFC 219, which will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
