Khabib Nurmagomedov is already facing questions about his weight, as his December 30th bout with Edson Barboza approaches, and the lightweight contender’s reporting his cut’s going to plan.

Nurmagomedov is scheduled to fight Barboza at the year end, UFC 219 card, which will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The bout will mark the first time Nurmagomedov has attempted to fight, after he was forced out of a March bout with Tony Ferguson, due to a disastrous weight cut.

During a recent media luncheon, Nurmagomedov had this to say, when asked about how his weight cut is going (quote via MMA Fighting):

“I have plan for cutting weight. I’m gonna cut my left or right leg [off] Friday morning, before weigh-ins,” Nurmagomedov said jokingly. “Now we think about this — left or right?

“I change a lot of things. My weight is perfect. My shape is good. I have three more hard days and I finish all my training camp and focus on making weight. We’ll see. I am not in bad shape. I’m very excited about it. I want to show this.”

The 29 year-old Nurmagomedov hasn’t fought since last November, when he submitted Michael Johnson in round three.
