UFC 223: Tony Ferguson Apologizes For Withdrawal in Statement

Fans and observers are still reeling from the news that Tony Ferguson will no longer fight Khabib Nurmagomedov next Saturday at UFC 223, and “El Cucuy” has issued an apology in a statement.

On Sunday, UFC President Dana White confirmed that Ferguson has injured his knee, and that Max Holloway has agreed to face Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title on Sunday.

Following that news, Ferguson issued the statement below via social media:

Nurmagomedov and Ferguson have been scheduled to fight four times, but each booking has been cancelled due to injuries or health issues.
