Leading up to UFC 224, Brian Kelleher has reportedly said he won’t be afraid to stand-and-trade with John Lineker, and the latter believes that’s welcome news.

The bantamweights are scheduled to fight at this Saturday’s event, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Recently Lineker spoke to MMA Fighting about the match-up, and while doing so, the feared slugger said this:

”He’s tough, audacious, and is not afraid to trade punches,” Lineker said. “He had good performances in the UFC, and I believe this is a good match-up because we both love to trade. He said he’s not afraid of my hands, and I think that favors me a lot.”

“I think he will, but he’s not the first to say that,” noted Lineker, while discussing whether he believes Kelleher with stand with him. “I’ve fought people in the past that said that but changed their minds when the fight started. I’m prepared if he tries to fool me and does something else.”

Lineker (30-8) is coming off a decision win over Marlon Vera in October, while Kelleher (19-8) earned a decision over Rena Barao in February.
