UFC 224: Vitor Belfort Calls Michael Bisping a “Coward”
By FCF Staff
Michael Bisping recently relayed he has no interest in fighting Vitor Belfort again, and the latter has called the former middleweight champ a “coward” as a result.
Belfort is now scheduled to fight Lyoto Machida on May 12 at UFC 224. But, not long ago, the Brazilian star offered to fight Bisping, in what is expected to be the British fighter’s last bout. Bisping, however, said he doesn’t want to fight Belfort again, since he doesn’t respect his former foe. Bisping has repeatedly criticized Belfort for his previous use of testosterone-replacement-therapy,
Recently Belfort was asked about the comments, and “The Phenom” said this (quote via MMA Junkie):
“He’s a coward,” Belfort said. “That Englishman is a coward. I’d never seen a coward Englishman before. He took a blow, got stunned, and he has his lame excuses, you know. Leave him with his arrogance over there in England.”
Belfort faced Bisping in 2013, and finished the rugged veteran in round two. Belfort’s bout with Machida is expected to be the last of his career.
