Although Robert Whittaker has already defeated Yoel Romero once, the UFC’s middleweight champ hasn’t lost sight of just how dangerous the contender is.

Whittaker is booked to fight the powerful wrestler at UFC 225 this Saturday, which will take place in Chicago, Illinois. The fight will mark the first time Whittaker has competed, since he earned a decision win over Romero last July.

While speaking to ESPN recently, Whittaker had this to say, while discussing the fact he’s already defeated Romero:

“Some people ask me: Does it give you any confidence knowing that you’ve already beaten him once? I’ve got to say ‘not really’ because he hits like a truck and it only takes one to get you,” Whittaker said.

“He’s a human specimen to begin with and he’s one of the most athletic, explosive and talented humans on the planet. So every time I step in there with him it’s 50/50.”

Romero, meanwhile, fought Luke Rockhold in February and knocked out the former champ in round three.
