UFC 228: Darren Till Can’t Wait to Prove Doubters Wrong by Making Weight

As UFC 228 approaches, Darren Till continues to field questions about his weight, and clearly the welterweight’s tired of that line of questioning.

Till is booked to face champion Tyron Woodley at the September 8th event, following his decision win over Stephen Thompson this past May. Since Till came in at 176 pounds for that bout, however, Till’s ability to make championship weight for UFC 228 has been a big topic of discussion.

The British fighter recently spoke with the media in Las Vegas, and while discussing making weight for the fight, he said this (quote via MMA Fighting):

“It’s sh*t. It’s sh*t. It’s f*cking, I hate cutting weight, I hate making weight, I hate dieting,” Till said. “I’m gonna make this weight, so I can’t wait to [put up my middle fingers] when I step on them scales. I’m just, I’m in that moment now where I just, I don’t want to train anymore, I don’t want to eat good anymore. I just wish I had a hamburger in front of me, but it’s all sacrifices and I made a mistake last time. I just can’t wait to say f*ck you to everyone who just keeps babbling on about weight and, ‘He didn’t make weight, f*ck Till.’ F*ck them.”

Woodley, meanwhile, hasn’t fought since last July when he defeated Demian Maia by decision. UFC 228 will be hosted by Dallas, Texas.
