UFC 228: Jessica Andrade Makes Case For Title Fight With Rose Namajunas
By FCF Staff
After knocking out Karolina Kowalkiewicz in spectacular fashion at UFC 228, Jessica Andrade made her case for a bout with strawweight champ, Rose Namajunas.
Andrade came out winging big shots at Kowalkiewicz on Saturday night, and ended up finishing the contender with a huge right hand, at the 1:58 mark. After the highlight reel win, Andrade had this to say, while discussing Namajunas (quote via MMA Fighting):
”Rose is a very versatile athlete, she works her striking well,” Andrade said. “She has evolved a lot since her fight with Karolina, but I believe I have a great chance of defeating the champion on the feet and on the ground. I’ve evolved a lot, and this knockout tonight got me one step closer to fighting for the belt and showing people that I can be a great striker, a great grappler, and that I will give a tough time to every girl in this division.”
Andrade has won three straight fights, since she was defeated by now former champ, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, in May, 2017.
