Alexander Gustafsson continues to sound extremely confident heading into his rematch with Jon Jones, and recently “The Mauler” promised he’s prepared to “push” “Bones” from the opening horn.

The light-heavyweights stars are going to battle in the headliner of UFC 232, which will take place on December 29th in Las Vegas. It will mark the second time they have fought, as in 2013, Jones eked by Gustafsson with a decision win, in what was one of the most memorable championship fights in UFC history.

Gustafsson has argued in recent weeks that he, in fact, defeated Jones, and more recently, the Swedish fighter said this (quotes via Bloody Elbow):

“I’m his kryptonite, he doesn’t like to fight me. I’m bringing something he can’t really handle,” Gustafsson said. “I’m here to take over. I’m here to take over Jon’s place in the rankings and in the history of this sport..”

“The (first bout) was the best fight in the light-heavyweight division ever. We did something good, we did something right in that first fight, but I can promise you, this fight will be even better. I have prepared for 10 rounds, and I will push him from round 1 to the end of it.”

Gustafsson will be fighting for the first time since May, 2017, when he stopped Glover Teixeira.
