Daniel Cormier will face Stipe Miocic for a second time at UFC 241, and recently the heayweight champ discussed what he’s expecting from the man he defeated last summer.

Recently the UFC confirmed that Miocic will challenge Cormier again on August 17th. The two fought at UFC 226 last July, and Cormier won the bout via first round knockout.

At UFC 237 this past weekend in Brazil, Cormier had this to say, while discussing how he sees his rematch with Miocic unfolding (quote via MMA Junkie):

“I don’t think anything’s going to be different with Miocic,” Cormier said. “I have to approach it similar, but I do expect a better Stipe. I know how hard it’ll be to beat him again, because I know how hard I prepared for the rematch with (Jon) Jones. Because I was just like him. I was in his position before, and I know how motivated I was to try to right that wrong. So I expect a tougher fight, but he’s a boxer and a wrestler. That’s exactly what he does, and I expect him to be better in his areas, but he’ll be the same fighter, just a little more aggressive.”

The 36-year-old Miocic (18-3) hasn’t fought since he was defeated by “DC”. The 40-year-old Cormier (22-1, 1 no-contest), meanwhile, fought Derrick Lewis in November and won via second round, submission.
