UFC 242: Conor McGregor Calls For Rematch With Khabib Nurmagomedov in Moscow

Nurmagomedov submitting McGregor

Khabib Nurmagomedov has repeatedly dismissed the idea that Conor McGregor deserves a rematch. But, that hasn’t stopped the latter from pushing for one.

Ever since Nurmagomedov submitted McGregor last October at UFC 229, the former champion has called for a rematch. Following Khabib’s submission win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 242, McGregor tweeted out this:

Book my rematch for Moscow.

Nurmagomedov has repeatedly said that Tony Ferguson deserves the next shot at the belt, since “El Cucuy” has won 12 in a row. Prior to UFC 242, Dana White said Ferguson will be offered a title shot, provided he’s ready. After Saturday’s card the UFC President said this (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“Tony Ferguson gets the next shot and obviously if for whatever reason Tony can’t take the fight or doesn’t want the fight at that time then we would figure out what was next but Conor would make a lot of sense,” White said.

“Conor McGregor wants that fight really badly and I’m sure the fans would want to see it. So we’ll see how this whole thing plays out.”

With Saturday’s win, Nurmagomedov’s record now stands at an awe-inspiring 28-0.
