After recording another highlight reel finish at UFC 246, Drew Dober is hoping to put together a title run that leads to the champ, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Dober faced Nasrat Haqparast on Saturday night, and after flooring the lightweight with a booming left, he finished the bout with shots from above. The victory moved Dober’s UFC record to 8-5, with 1 no-contest. The 31-year-old has gone 4-1, however, in his last 5 fights.

After his memorable win, Dober (22-9, with 1 NC) had this to say about the victory and his plans for the future.

“I think this is a huge statement win for me. He’s carrying a huge fan base, especially internationally, and he’s very talented, so I just wanted to go out there and showcase what I’m capable of.”

“I’m going to take a much needed break after this, but then I’m ready for top 10, top 15 – whoever ends up saying yes. I want to go back and watch the fight again and perfect anything I need to, but then it’s right back to racking up cage time. I want to fight (lightweight champion) Khabib (Nurmagomedov) and anyone below him on that list, so the first guy to say yes will get it.”

The loss snapped Haqparast’s three fight winning streak and dropped his record to 11-3.

UFC 246 took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
