UFC 285: Jon Jones Questions Praise Ciryl Gane’s Striking Has Received
By FCF Staff
Ciryl Gane’s stand-up skills have received widespread praise, since the heavyweight began his ascension up the UFC ranks in 2019. But, ahead of his bout this weekend with the former interim champ, Jon Jones is questioning some of that hype.
The former light-heavyweight champ is set to battle Gane in the headliner of UFC 285, which will go down on March 4th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Just days out from the highly anticipated clash, Jones tweeted out the comments below, about Gane’s striking and overall game.
Man I just finished watching my Thiago Santos fight again. I think it’s crazy that you guys consider gane the most technical kickboxer I’ve ever faced. Everything Thiago did have bad intentions on it. Dude had lightning speed, power, explosiveness. Crazy versatility.

ganes last three opponents had terrible defense. Those guys couldn’t stop a kick if their life depended on it. He’s fought flat footed boxers his last three fights

Best wrestler he ever fought was Francis, that’s wild

At UFC 285, Jones (26-1) will be competing for the first time since February, 20202, when he recorded a controversial, decision win over Dominick Reyes.
