Israel Adesanya finally avenged his losses to Alex Pereira, by viciously knocking out his rival in the main event of UFC 287.

Adesanya brutally KO’d Pereira with a devastating series of punches in round two, and in doing, reclaimed the middleweight title. It marked the fourth time that the two had fought, as Pereira stopped Adesanya at UFC 281 in November, after defeating the star twice during their kickboxing careers.

In the co-headliner, Gilbert Burns recorded a unanimous decision win over fellow welterweight contender, Jorge Masvidal. Following the loss, which was Masvidal’s fourth straight, the 38-year-old fighter announced he’s retiring.
