UFC 288: Aljamain Sterling Gets by Henry Cejudo

Aljamain Sterling remains the UFC’s bantamweight champion, following the promotion’s latest event, as the “Funk Master” got by former champ, Henry Cejudo.

The two battled in the headliner for UFC 289, in what was a very high-paced, competitive contest. After the entertaining fight, two of the three judges awarded the bout to Sterling.

In the co-headliner, Belal Muhammad cruised to a unanimous decision win over fellow welterweight contender, Gilbert Burns. The latter appeared to incur a should injury the in fight’s opening round, and following the event, UFC President Dana White confirmed Burns had injured his shoulder.

Cejudo was fighting for the first time since he announced his initial retirement in 2020. After his loss to Sterling, the decorated fighter said he would take some time to consider his future.
