Following UFC 295 on Saturday, Alex Pereira and Tom Aspinall are heading back to their respective homes with new, championship belts.

In the card’s headliner, Pereira secured the vacant light heavyweight title by stopping former champ, Jiri Prochazka in round two. Pereira stunned Prochazka badly with a left hook and prompted referee Marc Goddard’s intervention with a series of brutal elbows.

Prochazka did appear to still be fighting as the bout was halted. But, in his post-fight interview, he conceded he was badly hurt and did not protest the stoppage.

In the co-headliner, Aspinall quickly laid claim to the interim heavyweight title, by knocking Sergei Pavolich out with thumping punches in round one.
