By FCF Staff
Dustin Poirier thrilled fans yet again in what was the final fight of his remarkable career. But “The Diamond” was unable to retire on a winning note.
Poirier faced fellow legend Max Holloway in the headliner of UFC 318 on Saturday, who bested him in many of the striking exchanges en route to a unanimous decision win. With the victory, Holloway avenged 2012 and 2019 losses to Poirier, and “Blessed” also defended the ceremonial BMF title.
On account of the loss, the 36-year-old Poirier walks away from the game armed with an overall record of 30-10.
Holloway, who is 33, moved his record to 27-8 with the win.
