After months of speculation as to if and when Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic would fight, the UFC has announced the much-discussed bout is official.

Recently, UFC President Dana White announced that Jones will look to defend the heavyweight title against the former champ on November 11th. The fight will headline UFC 295, which will be hosted by Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Jones (27-1-1) laid claim to the vacant heavyweight title in March, by quickly submitting Ciryl Gane. That fight was Jones’ first since February, 2020, when he recorded a controversial decision win over light-heavyweight challenger, Dominick Reyes.

Following that fight, Jones eventually vacated the light-heavyweight title to pursue a championship run at heavyweight.

Miocic (20-4), meanwhile, hasn’t competed since March, 2021, when he lost the heavyweight title to Francis Ngannou, via a second-round knockout.
