UFC Announces Khabib Nurmagomedov – Dustin Poirier Fight

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier will fight on September 7th at UFC 242, as expected.
For several weeks there’s been speculation that the lightweight title unification fight would take place at the Abu Dhabi card, and today the UFC confirmed that will be the case.
Nurmagomedov (27-0) will be competing for the first time since last October, when he submitted Conor McGregor in round four. The champion was suspended for nine months for starting a post-fight brawl at the event.
Poirier (25-5), meanwhile, defeated Max Holloway by decision at UFC 236 in April and secured the interim lightweight title.
