The UFC has added a pivotal featherweight fight to its upcoming schedule, as recently the promotion announced that Sodiq Yussuf will battle fellow contender, Edson Barboza.
The featherweights will square off in the main event for the promotion’s October 14th, Fight Night card in Las Vegas.
Yussuf (13-2) is coming off consecutive wins over Alex Caceres and Don Shainis, after losing via decision to Arnold Allen in April 2021. The 30-year-old has gone 4-1 in his last 5 contests.
Barboza (23-11) snapped a two-fight losing skid in his last outing, as the veteran knocked out Billy Quarantillo in the first round of their April bout. The 37-year-old, former lightweight contender is 3-2 in his last 5 fights.
Yusuff is currently ranked #11 in the UFC’s featherweight rankings and Barboza is #13.
