Following the UFC’s announcement that the promotion is returning to Canada, it’s being reported the event will be headlined by Amanda Nunes versus Julianna Pena III.

On Friday, the promotion announced that UFC 289 will take place in Vancouver, British Columbia on June 10th. TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter is also reporting that UFC President Dana White confirmed Nunes – Pena will headline the card.

Pena (11-5) shocked the MMA world in December, 2021, by submitting Nunes in round two and ending her reign as bantamweight champ. Nunes (22-5) regained the belt last July, however, by recording a unanimous decision win over Pena.

UFC 289 will be hosted by Vancouver’s Rogers Arena.
