Lightweight contender Donald Cerrone will not be returning to 155 for his next bout, as the UFC has announced that he will battle welterweight Patrick Cote.

The fight will be part of UFC Fight Night 89, which will go down on June 18th in Ottawa, Canada.

Cerrone (29-7) is coming off a first round, submission win over Alex Oliveira in February, which was contested at 170 pounds. Prior to that the American was quickly stopped by lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos in December.

Cote (23-9) took out Ben Saunders with punches in his last outing, which took place in January. The Canadian has won three straight bouts.

UFC FN 89 will be headlined by a bout between welterweight contenders Rory MacDonald and Stephen Thompson.
