Following Brian Ortega’s recent announcement that a knee injury has pulled him from a November 21st bout with Chan Sung Jung, Frankie Edgar’s stepped up to take the fight.

Ortega was supposed to face the featherweight Jung in the headliner of UFC Busan. Recently the UFC reportedly announced that Edgar has agreed to face “The Korean Zombie”.

Edgar was scheduled to fight bantamweight contender Cory Sandhagen at UFC Raleigh, January 25th. In a follow-up report from MMA Fighting, it states sources have informed the outlet Edgar will reassess how he is after the Jung fight, and then determine whether he can still face Sandhagen.

The former lightweight champ Edgar (23-7-1) is coming off a decision loss to featherweight champ, Max Holloway in July.
