Bethe Correia firmly planted her self on Ronda Rousey’s radar at UFC 177, by taking out one of her “Four Horsewomen”, Shayna Bazler. Correia also took the opportunity to call out the bantamweight champ.

Well, Rousey told Dana White immediately after that she wants to fight Correia, and now the star says she’d be willing to face the contender in her native Brazil.

While speaking to the media in Brazil at UFC FN 51, Rousey stated (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“I want to fight Bethe,” Rousey said. “I would love to fight Bethe in Brazil, actually, I think that would be an amazing event and I want to be part of it.”

Correia has also defeated Jessamyn Duke, who is another of Rousey’s training partners, and the champ believes that only adds to the storyline.

“I think it’s extremely intelligent of her,” Rousey furthered about Correia. “I think it’s one of the things that was missing in women’s MMA before I came along and I’m glad the girls are taking the hint and making themselves a lot more interesting for the fans. The storylines and the backstory is extremely important because the fight becomes more than just about who is athletically better. It becomes about who is right. So the fan’s favorite, it becomes very personal as well. I think it’s very smart what she’s doing, she’s not going to get away with it, but she’s very smart.”

While Rousey is clearly interested in fighting Correia, the 27 year-old Judoka also told the media that bouts with Cat Zingano and Gina Carano are at the top of her list.

Since Rousey quickly stopped Alexis Davis at UFC 175 in July she’s been recovering from knee surgery and a broken thumb. The fighter turned actress said she’s hoping to fight at UFC 182 on January 3rd.
