UFC Confirms Belfort-Henderson II, Bout at Light-Heavyweight
By FCF Staff
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has confirmed that as expected, Vitor Belfort will fight Dan Henderson for a second time on November 9th in Goiania, Goias, Brazil. The fight will headline the UFC Fight Night 32 card, and as a result, will be a five round bout.
In addition, the promotion has announced that the fight will be contested at light-heavyweight, which is in keeping with Belfort’s recent demands. The punishing striker hopes to challenge the winner of the upcoming Weidman-Silva II middleweight championship fight on December 28th, and therefore, Belfort’s camp insisted his next bout not take place at 185.
Belfort is coming off back-to-back stoppage wins over Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping, while Henderson has suffered consecutive, split decision losses to Rashad Evans and Lyoto Machida.
The two have fought before, as Henderson defeated Belfort by unanimous decision at a PRIDE event in 2006.
Broadcast details for the event have yet to be determined.
