Less than two weeks away from the upcoming August 4th, UFC on FOX 4 card in Los Angeles, the UFC has confirmed that flyweight Ian McCall has been forced to withdraw from the event due to injury. As expected, John Moraga will take on fellow Octagon newcomer Ulysses Gomez instead.

McCall announced on The Underground forum that a knee injury would prevent him from fighting Moraga as scheduled, but the contender’s replacement was not made official until today.

Gomez (9-2) arrives in the UFC having won back-to-back bouts over Drew Bittner and Cody Gibson while competing for Tachi Palace Fights, where the Cobra Kai fighter is the reigning bantamweight champ.

Moraga (10-1) has made his way to the Octagon having won four straight bouts. The MMA Lab competitor’s only loss to date came against recent TUF winner Jon Dodson.

UFC on FOX 4 will be hosted by the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will feature a light-heavyweight bout between Mauricio Rua and Brandon Vera in the main event.

The main card will be broadcast live on FOX.
