After a few line-up changes due to injuries, the UFC has confirmed that as expected, Amir Sadollah will face Yoshihiro Akiyama on September 20th. The welterweight bout will be part of UFC FN 52, which will be hosted by the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

Akiyama was initially scheduled to fight Kyle Noke at the event, however, the latter was forced to withdraw due to injury. As a result, Sadollah was moved from a bout with Nico Musoke at UFC FN 53 to face the Japanese vet.

Musoke is now booked to take on Alexander Yakovlev on October 4th.

Akiyama (13-5) hasn’t fought now since February, 2012, when he was decisioned by Jake Shields. The decorated Judoka has lost four straight bouts.

Sadollah (6-4) is returning from a lengthy layoff due to injuries, as the American hasn’t fought since September, 2012, when he lost via UD to Dan Hardy. The TUF vet is 3-2 in his last 5 bouts.

UFC FN 52 will feature a heavyweight bout between Roy Nelson and Mark Hunt in the main event.
