UFC Denver: Yair Rodriguez on What he Expects From “The Korean Zombie”

Yair Rodriguez

Chan Sung Jung earned the nickname “The Korean Zombie” due to his unbelievable ability to absorb punishment, and recently Yair Rodriguez weighed in on what he’s expecting from the rugged vet.

Rodriguez will battle Jung in the headliner of UFC Denver, which is going down tomorrow night at the Pepsi Center. In a recent article at UFC.com, Rodriguez had this to say about Jung, and how you go about stopping a zombie.

“I said before in interviews that I would like to fight The Korean Zombie,” Rodriguez said. “He is one of the guys that I look up to because he’s been in the game longer than me and I’ve seen him fight Jose Aldo and other fighters that I respect a lot, and I know why they call him The Korean Zombie because he’s always coming forward and he’s aggressive and he never quits…

“You gotta shoot the head,” laughed Rodriguez. “But with this Zombie, I think it’s gonna be a little different. We’re in high elevation and I think cardio is going to be a real important key. He’s gonna try to keep away from my range and we’ll see how the fight goes.”

Rodriguez will be competing for the first time since May, 2017, when he lost via TKO (via doctor stoppage) to Frankie Edgar.
