There shouldn’t be any questions about Deiveson Figueiredo’s second victory over Joseph Benavidez tonight, as the flyweight ran through the perennial contender to win the UFC’s flyweight title.

Figueiredo dropped Benavidez several times in the opening round of the UFC Fight Island 2 headliner, and eventually choked the rugged vet out with a rear-naked-choke.

With the win, Figueiredo secured the vacant, flyweight title.

Figueiredo also stopped Benavidez in February, but because he missed weight for the fight, he didn’t win the flyweight belt. An accidental headbutt shortly before that fight’s final moments, also left questions about the win.
