TUF 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum is without an opponent now for UFC Fight Night 27, as according to multiple reports, Paulo Thiago has been forced to drop out of the August 28th event due to a knee injury.

The UFC has yet to confirm Thiago’s withdrawal, however, it’s believed the search for a replacement is ongoing.

Thiago (15-5) was hoping to build on the unanimous decision win he scored over Michel Richard dos Prazeres in May, after dropping back-to-back bouts to Dong Hyun Kim and Siyar Bahadurzada.

Gastelum (6-0) is coming off the biggest win of his life, as he worked his way to a split decision win over KO artist Uriah Hall in April to win TUF 17.

UFC Fight Night 27 will be hosted by the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, and will feature Carlos Condit taking on Martin Kampmann in the main event.
