Lyoto Machida made the most of his middleweight debut today at UFC Fight Night 30, as the former light-heavyweight champ quickly took out contender and training partner Mark Munoz in the card’s main event.

Machida landed several hard kicks to Munoz’s body moments into the fight, and not long after the round’s midway point, he floored the wrestler with thumping left kick to the head. Machida could have followed up with another shot before the referee jumped in, but the vet respectfully refrained from hitting his friend one more time.

The card’s co-main-event had an unfortunate ending, as the lightweight bout between noted strikers Ross Pearson and Melvin Guillard was declared a no-contest. Not long into the fight, Guillard had Pearson on the defensive against the Octagon fence, and landed  a couple of knees to the latter’s head that opened up a huge cut on his forehead.

One of the knees appeared to land, however, as Pearson had two knees and one hand on the ground. Doctors ruled that Pearson could not continue as a result of the cut, and because it stemmed from an illegal strike, the bout was declared a no-contest.

Here are the official results from UFCN 30, which was hosted by the Phones 4U Arena in Manchester, England.
