Saturday night was an emotional night for Walt Harris, and following his stoppage loss to Alistair Overeem, the heavyweight contender released a statement.

Harris rocked and bloodied Overeem early on in the headliner of UFC Florida, but the latter weathered the storm. In round two, Overeem stunned Harris with a headkick, and then finished the fight with a series of punches.

Harris, who was fighting for the first time since the murder of his stepdaughter Aniah Blanchard last year, released the following statement afterward.

First let me thank @alistairovereem for sharing the octagon we me tonight… You’re a class act brother and a legend! Tonight wasn’t my night, but you best believe I will be back better! Thank to everyone for all your love and support can’t say it enough! We learn and grow! Baby girl… daddy loves you and I promise I will keep pushing! #ForeverAniah💙💙💙💙

The 36-year-old heavyweight now carries a record of 13-8, with 1 no-contest.
