UFC FN 104: Chan Sung Jung Admits he Questioned Whether he Could “Keep up With The Game”
By FCF Staff
Chan Sung Jung was triumphant in his return to the Octagon, but “The Korean Zombie” admitted afterwards, he had doubts about his ability to compete in recent years.
Jung took on Dennis Bermudez in the headliner of UFC Fight Night 104, and put the featherweight contender down with a booming uppercut in round one. The fight marked the first time Jung had fought since 2013, due to shoulder surgery and mandatory military service in his native South Korea.
While speaking with the media after the win, Jung had this to say (quotes via MMA Junkie):
“I’m human too, so there were times when I thought, can I keep up with the game, can I keep developing my techniques? Now, I feel like I’m about to cry.”
“My goal is always to be the champion, and I think this fight has put me back in the game.”
Bermudez was ranked #9 going into last night’s card, while Jung wasn’t listed, since he’s been inactive.
