UFC FN 104: Dennis Bermudez Has Prepared For The “Best” Chan Sung Jung
By FCF Staff
Although Chan Sung Jung hasn’t fought in over three years, Dennis Bermudez says he’s prepared to face “The Korean Zombie” at his best on Saturday.
The featherweights will fight in the main event of UFC Fight Night 104, which will take place in Houston. The bout will mark the first time Jung has fought since August, 2013, when he was stopped by champion Jose Aldo. Shoulder surgery and mandatory military service in his native South Korea has kept Jung out of the Octagon.
Due to Jung’s break from fighting, the subject of ring rust has been a much discussed one leading up to the bout. But, during the latest “UFC Tonight“, Bermudez had this to say (quote via FOX Sports press release):
“I prepared for him as if he’s never left, for the best we’ve ever seen him.”
Bermudez is coming off back-to-back wins as the fight nears, and is currently ranked #9. When asked where he thinks a win over Jung will position him in the featherweight division, “The Menace” stated:
“I think it puts me into top five. I have a win over Max, so I’m trying to get that belt.”
Bermudez faced the interim champ, Max Holloway in 2013, and earned a split decision win over him.
