Although John Moraga had his back up against the wall leading up to UFC Fight Night 110, the veteran says pressure wasn’t an issue, leading up to the bout.

Moraga took on Ashkan Mokhtarian on Saturday night, and worked his way to a clear cut, unanimous decision win. Since Moraga had lost three straight fights heading into the card, it was a pivotal win for the 33 year-old.

While discussing whether he felt any additional pressure for the bout, as a result of his losing skid, Moraga had this to say afterwards (quote via MMA Junkie):

“You can’t really let it get to you or think about it,” Moraga said. “I just had to stay focused and know that I’m going to win one, the next one. I didn’t let it get to me. I knew it was an issue. I knew it would be talked about. I had to answer a bunch of interviews about it. But in my mind, I was just focused on winning as always.”

“I wanted the finish, but I needed that (win) very bad for my career,” added Moraga. “I had to take a second as soon as I walked out the tunnel and sat sown and just thanked God for giving me the ability to perform. I’m just blessed that I was able to get the W.”

With the victory, Moraga moved his overall record to 17-6.
