UFC FN 125: Pedro Munhoz Says Hotel’s Reason For Not Making Weight
By FCF Staff
After failing to make weight for UFC Fight Night 125, Pedro Munhoz is pointing to the hotel he was staying in, as to why he’s no longer fighting John Dodson.
Munhoz came in at 140 pounds for the bantamweight contest, which was supposed to be the co-main event for tonight’s card in Belem, Brazil. But, after Munhoz weighed in and missed his mark, Dodson reportedly decided to not accept the bout.
Since then, Munhoz spoke with MMA Fighting, and the bantamweight had this to say about what transpired:
“Everything went like in my previous fights,” Munhoz said. “I have a schedule with the weight I have to be when fight week starts, how much I’ll cut every day, and it went all according to the plan. The complicated part was this morning because there was no hot water at the hotel.”
“The hotel we are in has no bath tub, and the hotel they sent us to last night was out of hot water last night,” Munhoz said. “I don’t lose weight in the sauna, I don’t sweat. I lose weight training, like I did yesterday, and I always leave two pounds to cut in the bath tub in the last morning. I lose that in 30, 40 minutes, easy.”
Munhoz (15-2) is currently riding a four fight, winning streak.
