As Edson Barboza gets set to fight Kevin Lee tomorrow at UFC Fight Night 128, the lightweight contender’s reported he’s more “motivated than ever”, following his bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Barboza faced the now, reigning lightweight champ at UFC 219 in December, and lost via a one sided, unanimous decision to the renowned grappler. While discussing his defeat to Nurmagomedov, and his upcoming bout with Lee, however, Barboza told UFC.com this:

“Nothing surprised me, I’m just very disappointed and I’m very disappointed because nothing surprised me,” Barboza said, while reflecting on his fight with Nurmagomedov. “I trained very well, my coach did a perfect game plan – we did everything right – but in the fight, I kept getting put on the cage.”

“I was very, very, very sad about that fight, but it’s over. I have a fight coming up. I’m more motivated than ever and I’m very happy with the opportunity to fight again.”

Lee is also looking to get back on track, as the contender was submitted by former interim champ, Tony Ferguson in October.

UFC FN 128 will take place in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
