Darren Till walked away from UFC Fight Night 130 armed with a unanimous decision win, but Stephen Thompson believes he should returning to the United States with a victory.

Thompson faced Till in his hometown of Liverpool on Sunday, and lost the very competitive fight via scores of 49-46, 49-46, and 48-47. While the consensus seems to be that Thompson wasn’t robbed, some observers have argued that “Wonderboy’ won the fight.

While speaking to the UFC’s Megan Olivi after the card, Thompson had this to say about the decision (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“I thought I edged it out, but he’s definitely a big boy,” Thompson said about the fight and Till, who came in several pounds overweight for the bout. “You could feel his weight out there a little bit. But you know what, it is what it is.”

At the post fight presser, Thompson also reportedly said this::

“It could be a controversial three, maybe. But I felt like I would hit and move. The only really good shot he had in was that one shot in the fifth round. But other than that, it was pretty close.”

Thompson was coming off a decision win over Jorge Masvidal heading into UFC FN 130, and the welterweight contender is now 2-2-1 in his last 5 bouts.
