Due the reported withdrawal of Antonio Braga Neto from the UFC’s upcoming “Fight for the Troops III” card on November 6th, Brian Houston has been tapped to fight middleweight Derek Brunson. UFC FN 31 will be hosted by Kentucky’s Fort Campbell and will be broadcast on FOX Sports 1.

Houston (4-0) will be making his Octagon debut, after he was supposed to face Yoel Romero at UFC 164, but was forced to drop out due a medical issue. The Nebraska fighter has won three of his four bouts via TKO or knockout.

Brunson (10-2) was initially set to fight Romero on August 31st, but had to withdraw from the event due to an injury. The middleweight hasn’t competed since he scored a unanimous decision over Chris Leben at UFC 155 last December. The Strikeforce vet is 3-2 in his last five bouts.

UFC FN 31 will feature a middleweight bout between Lyoto Machida and Tim Kennedy in the main event.

Some of the other bouts scheduled for the event include Liz Carmouche vs. Alexis Davis, Ronny Markes vs. Yoel Romero, Colton Smith vs. Michael Chiesa and Jorge Masvidal vs. Rustam Khabilov.
