Not long after the UFC announced that Mark Hunt versus”Bigfoot” Silva will headline it’s December 7th event in Brisbane, Australia, the promotion has announced that “Shogun” Rua will fight James Te Huna in the co-main event.  UFC FN 33 will be hosted by the Brisbane Entertainment Centre and is expected to be broadcast on FOX Sports 1.

Rua (21-8) is coming off a disappointing, first round submission loss to Chael Sonnen at UFC FN 26 on August 17th, after losing by unanimous decision to Alexander Gustafsson at UFC on FOX 5 last December. It marks the first time the former light-heavyweight champ has lost consecutive bouts. Prior to the losses Rua stopped Brandon Vera at UFC on FOX 4 last August.

Te Huna (16-6) was tapped out by Glover Teixeira in his last outing at UFC 160 in May, which ended the Australian fighter’s four fight win streak. During the run the vet scored wins over Aaron Rosa, Ricardo Romero, Joey Beltran and Ryan Jimmo.

Hunt-Silva and Rua-Te Huna are the first bouts that have been confirmed for UFC FN 33.
