After news surfaced yesterday that Jake Ellenberger has been forced out of his UFC Fight Night 34 bout with Tarec Saffiedine due to injury, the promotion has announced that Hyun Gyu Lim will replace the welterweight. The bout will headline the January 4th card, which will mark the UFC’s Singapore debut.

Lim (12-3-1), who was scheduled to fight Kiichi Kunimoto at UFN 34, is coming off a knockout win over Pascal Krauss at UFC 164 in August. The South Korean fighter is currently riding a seven fight win streak which includes a KO victory over Marcelo Guimaraes in his Octagon debut.

Saffiedine (14-3) will be fighting for the first time since January, 2012, when he scored a decision win over Nate Marquardt to take the Strikeforce welterweight title. The Belgian fighter has been sidelined since with injuries.

UFC FN 34 will also feature a featherweight bout between Tatsuya Kawajiri and Hacran Dias.
