Luke Rockhold not only recorded his first Octagon win tonight at UFC Fight Night 35, but the decorated fighter also earned “Knockout of the Night” honors for his first round stoppage of Costas Philippou.

Rockhold dropped Philippou with a vicious liver kick in the night’s headliner, which returned him to the winner’s circle, after he was stopped by Vitor Belfort last May. The former Strikeforce middleweight champ earned an extra $50,000 for the award.

“Submission of the Night” went to Cole Miller, who tapped out Sam Sicilia with a rear-naked-choke, after stunning the powerful featherweight with a series of punches. The accomplished vet also earned an extra $50K for the award.

And “Fight of the Night” went to middleweights Yoel Romero and Derek Brunson for their entertaining, back-and-forth bout. Despite taking several hard shots in the fight, Romero went on to stop Brunson with a brutal series of ground-and-pound strikes in round three.

UFC FN 35 went down in Duluth, Georgia and was hosted by the city’s Gwinnett Center.
