Not long after the UFC confirmed that Ovince St. Preux will battle Thiago Silva at its January 15th event in Duluth, Georgia, the promotion has announced that the latter has withdrawn. The reason for Silva pulling out of the fight was not disclosed.

Silva (16-3, 2 NC) is coming off back-t0-back wins over Rafael Cavalcante and Matt Hamill, after having a victory over Stanislav Nedkov overturned last November. Silva tested positive for marijuana following the UFC on FUEL TV 6 bout.

St. Preux (14-5) has won three straight fights, which includes victories over Gian Villante and Cody Donovan with the UFC.

UFC Fight Night 35 will be hosted by Duluth’s Gwinnett Center and will feature a middleweight bout between Costa Philippou and Luke Rockhold.
