At UFC FN 44, Ricardo Lamas will return to action for the first time since he was decisioned by featherweight champ Jose Aldo in February, and clearly the defeat is still on his mind. Of course, it doesn’t help that he’ll take on one of Aldo’s Nova Uniao teammates, Hacran Dias.

While speaking to UFC.com about his loss to Aldo, and this Saturday’s fight with Dias, Lamas was quoted saying:

“I think this is a good start on my road to revenge, fighting one of his teammates,” said Lamas, who also noted that “every loss sticks with you for a while”. “I’m not looking at it just that; I have a lot of respect for Hacran. I know he’s a tough fighter and he has a win over a guy that beat me in the past (Alcantara), so I know he’s no slouch. I’m coming ready and I’m going to get back to the path of victory.”

Lamas (13-3) locked up a title fight with Aldo thanks to a four fight win streak, which included wins over Cub Swanson, Hatsu Hioki, Matt Grice and Erik Koch.

Dias (21-2-1) will also be looking to rebound from a loss, as the featherweight is coming off a decision loss to Nik Lentz last May. Dias had won 9 straight prior to the defeat.

UFC FN 44 will be hosted by San Antonio’s AT&T Center and will feature Swanson versus Jeremy Stephens in the main event.
