UFC FN 49: Brandon Thatch Out of Bout With Jordan Mein, Posts Graphic Picture of Fractured Toe
By FCF Staff
UFC Fight Night 49 has lost a compelling, welterweight bout, as Brandon Thatch has announced he’s pulling out of the August 23rd card due to a foot injury. The 11-1 fighter was scheduled to fight Jordan Mein.
The 29 year-old vet announced the news via Twitter, by stating:
I’m bummed to say I have to pull out of my fight against Jordan Mein. I compound fractured my toe yesterday
Thatch’s tweet also included two pictures of his fracture toe, which you can see here (Warning: Graphic)
The UFC has yet to announce whether it will look to secure a replacement opponent for Mein.
Thatch has gone 2-0 since joining the UFC, and is coming off a stoppage win over Paulo Thiago in November.
Mein (28-9) scored a split decision win over Hernani Perpetuo in his last outing, which took place at UFC on FOX 11 in April.
UFC FN 49 will be hosted by the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
